Defensive Handgun Level I

Defensive Handgun Level I Course

This is a beginner to intermediate handgun course. This course is a prerequisite for many of our advanced shooting courses. Regardless of your current skill level, you will learn applicable technical information, greatly improve your skills and abilities, and like all our courses we will not only train you, but just as importantly, teach you how to train on your own and maintain your skills. With our low student to instructor ratio we can push each student individually so that everyone gets a one on one experience while in a group training environment.

We always train to a standard, not to time. Many variables affect this including class size and student experience level. We ensure every student leaves fully confident in the knowledge and skills our training covers so there are times that we finish a little early, but we often train beyond the scheduled completion time to ensure our commitment to students is fully met.

Equipment Required:

  1. Handgun and 2 magazines (strongly recommend a full size semi auto for this course, not a compact or sub-compact)
  2. Approx. 350 rounds of ammunition
  3. Outside the Waistband Holster
  5. Eye Protection
  6. Lunch and Water/Gatorade (limit caffeine) (no onsite food available)
  7. Jackets and Hats to keep you comfortable out on the range.

Optional Equipment: (recommended but not necessary)

  1. Additional magazines
  2. Firearms cleaning kit
  3. Magazine Belt Pouch(es)
  4. Camp chair for lunch/breaks

Additional Ammunition
This course of fire only requires 350 rounds but students often need or want to spend more time on one drill or another or want to work with an instructor after class to fix specific shooting handicaps (which we will gladly do). So you are encouraged to bring additional ammo.

This course does not have any prerequisites.
