Defensive Handgun Level I
This is a beginner to intermediate handgun course. This course is a prerequisite for many of our advanced shooting courses. Regardless of your current skill level, you will learn applicable technical information, greatly improve your skills and abilities, and like all our courses we will not only train you, but just as importantly, teach you how to train on your own and maintain your skills. With our low student to instructor ratio we can push each student individually so that everyone gets a one on one experience while in a group training environment.
We always train to a standard, not to time. Many variables affect this including class size and student experience level. We ensure every student leaves fully confident in the knowledge and skills our training covers so there are times that we finish a little early, but we often train beyond the scheduled completion time to ensure our commitment to students is fully met.

- Ear Protection HIGHLY RECOMMEND ELECTRONIC EARMUFFS SO YOU CAN HEAR ALL INSTRUCTION AND RANGE COMMANDS

- Jackets and Hats to keep you comfortable out on the range.
Optional Equipment: (recommended but not necessary)

This course of fire only requires 350 rounds but students often need or want to spend more time on one drill or another or want to work with an instructor after class to fix specific shooting handicaps (which we will gladly do). So you are encouraged to bring additional ammo.
This course does not have any prerequisites.

Once you have attended a Defensive Handgun course you are part of the PTS Alumni Family! Our training, as with all training is never intended to be one and done. This is a lifestyle and regular training is critical to improve as a shooter. We currently have clients take the same course many times over. Every student will be pushed and challenged by your assigned instructor on a personal basis. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter, or a beginner, we will make sure you get one on one attention and dramatically improve every course. We also will make slight changes to every course so that people that are returning will experience something new every time.
Many clients will want to take the same course multiple times. Some students that didn’t pass a specific course or didn’t score as high as they think they could have will want to return and earn a Graduate Certificate or improve their scores.
To make it as affordable as possible to attend courses regularly, we are offering all PTS clients an Alumni Discount. They will receive 50% off any course they enroll in that they have already attended (regardless of previous pass/fail).
We will be offering a limited number of Alumni slots in each course. Once you have attended every course we offer, that’s just the beginning! We want to see you at every course!
